During the 18th century, the Gharana of Kotawalas emerged. in 1727 AD When world famous AMBER KINGDOM decides to develop a new city with the name of JAIPUR, a city with very fine architecture and world class art. HIS HIGHNESS MAHARAJA SAWAI JAISINGH invited many people from various sectors who were well known people in their respected sector of their time, to come and live in new city and make it perfect in all aspects. In this process, SETH NANUMAL JI from nearby kingdom KOTA, was also invited to join the new city. He was well known jeweler of his time. So, he moved to JAIPUR on the invitation of Jaipur’s Maharaja and started living in new built city, JAIPUR. Due to coming from the state of KOTA, the family was then known as KOTAWALA FAMILY. This is an upcoming name from centuries for the family and still the whole family carries this identity.
